Jon Favreau to Direct Live-Action Lion King Movie!
After a surprising tweet from the director earlier this morning, Walt Disney Studios has confirmed that director Jon Favreau is putting a new reimagining of The Lion King on the fast track to production. The Lion King movie follows the technologically-groundbreaking smash hit The Jungle Book, directed by Favreau, which debuted in April and has earned $965.8 million worldwide.The Lion King builds on Disney’s success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella, and The Jungle Book. The upcoming Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle, is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. Like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King will include songs from the animated film. Disney and Favreau are also in development on a sequel to The Jungle Book. No release date has been announced for either film.The Lion King (1994) is one of the biggest animated films of all time with a lifetime global box office gross of $968.8 million, including $422.8 million domestically. It won Academy Awards for the original song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (Elton John, Tim Rice) and original score (Hans Zimmer), plus two Grammy Awards, with the soundtrack selling over 14 million copies. In 1997, the stage production “The Lion King” made its Broadway debut, winning six Tony Awards; 19 years later, it remains one of Broadway’s biggest hits alongside several other productions running around the world, including London, Hamburg, Tokyo, Madrid, Mexico City, Shanghai, and North America. Translated into eight different languages, its 23 global productions have been seen by more than 85 million people across every continent except Antarctica.
Ora mi domando il senso. Non accetto ma comprendo i remake delle fiabe perché fanno parte della tradizione popolare ma il Re Leone é 80% (Shakespeare non me ne voglia). Quindi che senso ha rifare lo stesso identico film, con la stessa identica storia che hai creato tu Disney? Senza contare che dovrà essere fatto in CGI! Un intero film live action in CGI. Mi sarebbe anche piaciuto se lo avessero fatto con attori a interpretare le parti alla Hamlet ma mi sa che non sarà cosí. Per inciso, non ho niente contro la CGI, quella fatta bene, ma detesto la CGI fatta male e plasticosa.. -

Bisogna stare attenti proprio perché se si vuole fare una live action su un film come "Il Re Leone" si va incontro a due possibilità:
1) Per fare una live action c'è bisogno di attori umani e il film d'animazione in questione non ne presenta, quindi c'è il SERIO rischio di cambiare la storia per come la conosciamo, DISTRUGGENDOLA COMPLETAMENTE.
2) Non si fa una vera e propria live action ma una rivisitazione in CGI ultra-realistico come nel caso del film "Dinosauri" sempre della Disney.
Il tempo ci darà le risposte. Per ora, che so io, non hanno rilasciato nemmeno un'immagine ufficiale.. -

Effettivamente poi il film con attori umani sarebbe snaturato, sembrerebbe Amleto per davvero... ma la CGI ultra realistica non mi piace per niente! . -

beh io aspetto e attendo!
Resta il fatto che per me "Il re leone" è da considerarsi come una versione animata di Amleto e ne ho viste altre.
Sono proprio curioso di vedere che combineranno e se questa idea andrà in portò o finirà male. -

Mi piacerebbe tanto vedere un film sul Re leone, sarebbe interessante anche se usassero attori umani, però dovrebbero usare attori adatti non vorrei che mi rovinassero l'infanzia 😂 . -
