This article is about the television series. For the characters, see Timon and Pumbaa.

Timon (right) and PumbaaThe Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa is a Disney children's animated television series that premiered from 1995 to 1998. After 1998, a new director took over, causing a drop in popularity. The last episode was in 1999, but was never aired on the major networks. It is not clear if it is part of Lion King canon.

It stars Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog, both characters from the Disney animated films The Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. On February 10, 2004, they starred in their own feature film, The Lion King 1½ which takes place behind the events of The Lion King.

Ernie Sabella and Nathan Lane provided the voices of Pumbaa and Timon, respectively, in The Lion King, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and The Lion King 1½. Both actors were featured early in the television show, but Lane was soon replaced by Quinton Flynn and finally Kevin Schon.

There are possibly 86 22-minute episodes (or more) in all, most consisting of two or three shorter segments.

Reruns on Timon and Pumbaa air every weekend at 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM and every weekday morning at 6:00 AM on Toon Disney. The show was also aired on The Disney Channel in the late-1990s, until the preteen lineup took over.

The "Timon and Pumbaa" Episode Guide
An episode guide for the first two seasons of "The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa". The episodes are listed in the order that they were first run, reflecting no official order that Disney might have of them.

During the first season, "Timon and Pumbaa" shorts came in three categories:

    Timon and Pumbaa
    RF: Rafiki Fables
    TLH: The Laughing Hyenas
The four "Rafiki Fables" starred Rafiki, usually teaching someone in the jungle an important lesson. The four shorts of "The Laughing Hyenas" featured the trio's futile attempts at trying to get some food. The rest of the first season shorts featured Timon and Pumbaa

However, the categories were dropped during the second season, and so no short ever had the "Rafiki Fables" or "The Laughing Hyenas" labeling. But the second season did feature two shorts starring "Zazu".

Thank you, Gael McGear Sweeney. Your own episode guide was a big help in putting this guide together.
